Geisinger Health System provides care for patients throughout Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania and supports extensive educational and research programs. Geisinger offers fellowships in a number of medical subspecialties, and is now pleased to offer a fellowship experience in Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine (PHM) for those seeking careers as pediatric hospitalists.

The PHM fellowship, sponsored by Geisinger’s Department of Pediatrics provides graduates of pediatric residency programs the opportunity to gain additional experience and knowledge in the management of severely ill children requiring inpatient management as well as participating in research in this new and growing field of medicine. In addition, fellows in our program are given a unique opportunity to learn the principles of sedation management and are expected to become proficient in deep sedation of pediatric patients. 

All PHM fellows have opportunities to take advantage of Geisinger's nationally recognized expertise in:

• Managed care

• Healthcare policy/rural health advocacy
