The Geisinger Department of Pediatrics consists of more than 70 board certified pediatricians and subspecialists, in addition to more than 30 medical faculty members with joint appointments in other disciplines including surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, psychology, pathology, and radiology. Subspecialty sections add to the diversity of the extensive general pediatric practice. These subspecialty sections include: adolescent medicine, allergy and immunology, critical care, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology and nutrition, genetics, hematology/oncology, infectious disease, nephrology, neonatology, neurology, neurodevelopmental pediatrics, pulmonology, and rheumatology. Pediatric surgical subspecialties include: cardiothoracic surgery, dentistry and oral surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedic surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, trauma surgery, and urology. The Geisinger Medical Center also has a fully accredited pediatric residency program. In addition, numerous students from other institutions also choose to do electives here. Present pediatric hospitalist faculty includes: - Paul Bellino, MD, FAAP, Director
