| | Salary and Benefits | As all PMH fellows are board eligible or board certified pediatricians, they are considered members of our faculty. As such, they have access to all faculty privileges as well as staff benefits package. As our fellows are able to independently bill for services, they generate revenue and as such are compensated at a much higher rate than other fellowship programs. Compensation for fellows is calculated as a blend of the yearly salary of a categorical PL-4 resident and the average salary for a starting pediatric hospitalist in our health system. The usual starting salary is in excess of $70,000 per year. In addition to a generous salary, fellows also are given the following benefits package: - 20 days of vacation per year of fellowship
- 15 days CME per year of fellowship
- $3,500 per year for CME expenses
- Paid time away for presentation at conferences
- Supplemented health insurance (Geisinger Health Plan)
