| | The rheumatology fellowship currently has positions for 2 first-year trainees and 2 second-year trainees. Dr. Thomas Harrington has been program director since 1982. The rheumatology fellowship is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. During the last fellowship review in 2007, the program was commended for an excellent research program, osteoporosis curriculum, and faculty-trained relationships. In 2005, the rheumatology fellowship became part of ERAS and has successfully filled all openings for the fellowship on a yearly basis. The rheumatology program and the Geisinger Medical Center is committed to using the most advanced technology available. A fully integrated electronic health record connecting 40 community practice sites and more than 650 primary and specialty physicians is available for trainees and rheumatology staff.
