| | News | 2010 Dr. Doug Kupas was awarded the 'Keith Neely Outstanding Contribution to EMS Award' at the NAEMSP Annual Assembly in Phoenix, January, 2010. Drs. Sarah Cates and Erica McElroy travel to Luoyang, Henan Province, China, to provide medical care to special needs orphans at Maria's Big House of Hope in March, 2010.
 Drs. Mike Krick, Jennifer Savino, Sarah Cates, and Danny Hierholzer have had their scholarly projects accepted for presentation at SAEM's Annual Scientific Assembly in Phoenix, June, 2010. Drs. Cates, Savino, and Carrie Colleran also presented their projects at the PA ACEP Chapter Annual Assembly in Philadelphia in April, 2010. The Department of Emergency Medicine at Geisinger has been approved to establish an EMS Fellowship Program. The first EMS Fellow will start in 2011. | 2009  U.S. Senator Bob Casey, Jr. (D-PA), center, visits Geisinger's Department of Emergency Medicine's Simulation Lab to see first hand the role of simulation medicine in training emergency medicine residents.

2008 - Dr. Eric Maur is elected Resident Member to the National ACEP Board of Directors during the 2008 ACEP Meeting in Chicago, IL.

- Dr. Kristine Robinson wins 2nd place for a poster presentation at the Critical Care Transport Annual Meeting
2007 - Dr. Kristine Robinson wins the Geisinger EM Royer Research Award for best EM scholarly project presentation
- The EM Residency Program completes its 5 year RRC review and is given a 5 year continued accreditation (highest possible)
- The EM Residency Program is granted the addition of a 9th EM resident per year, bringing our total from 24 residents to 27
