Our program supports three preliminary residents per year. Housestaff in the preliminary year of training are fully integrated into the larger body of internal medicine categorical residents and  treated as full members of the residency. As shown below, the curriculum is virtually identical to the categorical PGY 1’s, with the exception of added elective time. Preliminary residents may opt to have a longitudinal continuity clinic experience.
