On-call
Pediatrics
  • Interns: Every fourth or fifth night while on inpatient and NICU rotations, otherwise average 3-4 calls per month.
  • Upper Levels: Approximately 3-4 calls per month.

Internal medicine

  • Interns: Night float for one or two weeks during inpatient medicine and 1 week during cardiology. Short call until 8 pm every third or fourth night on the other three weeks during inpatient medicine months. One or two overnight weekend calls on outpatient months.
  • Upper Levels: One to two overnight call per month when on outpatient rotations. Short call to 8 pm every third or fourth night while on medicine or subspecialty inpatient months. ED and ICU have shift coverage.
