Welcome to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Geisinger Medical Center.
Geisinger Medical Center is both a tertiary care center and a multispecialty clinic providing outstanding care in a safe, beautiful and inexpensive area.
Geisinger Health System is a nationally recognized, physician-led, integrated system of healthcare that includes several hospitals, an alcohol and chemical dependency treatment facility, a health plan, and research facilities for both basic science and clinical research. With more than 1,000 employed physicians and primary care sites located in more than 40 counties, Geisinger provides primary and subspecialty healthcare to more than 3 million people residing in central Pennsylvania. Our residents have the opportunity to learn all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, from outpatient/office care to some of the most specialized and innovative surgical techniques. Our faculty present a wide range of expertise in obstetrics and gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology/infertility, and female pelvic medicine/reconstructive surgery.
The small-town nature of central Pennsylvania provides a lifestyle without high crime, traffic or other big-city stress. It is possible to live within walking distance of the main campus. Yet several metropolitan cities are within a day or less of driving time, allowing access to the rich entertainment, dining, shopping and other pleasures offered by large cities.
