As Level 2 (GWV) and Level 1 (GMC) Trauma Centers, surgical care is provided to trauma patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All of Geisinger’s surgery programs coordinate with established surgical centers of excellence. Surgical trainees benefit from these partnerships as they easily reach required case volumes within the large case numbers treated by the Geisinger Health System. GWV and Geisinger Medical Center’s (GMC) surgical suites are constantly updated to make the most of medical technology. Geisinger has two outpatient surgery centers: Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre located in Wilkes-Barre and Outpatient Surgery Woodbine Lane (OSW) located in Danville. Each center offers the convenience of same-day procedures with the safety of a full surgical staff. |
