| | Continuity Clinic | Continuity Clinic is an integral part of the pediatric training program. Our unique setting provides a wide and stable population base, which allows for a true longitudinal continuity of care experience. Special emphasis is given to developmental aspects of pediatric care and health care supervision. Continuity Clinics occur at both the Knapper Clinic and Foss Clinic 6. Both of these clinics are located on the main hospital campus. Residents are directly supervised by members of the general pediatric faculty. Interns are assigned ½ day clinic per week. Upper level residents are assigned one full clinic day per week. This may be taken as an entire day of general pediatrics or split between ½ day of general pediatrics and ½ day of subspecialty continuity clinic. Subspecialty continuity clinics allow upper level residents to assume the regular management of children with chronic illness as the patient’s subspecialist. After initial diagnosis, residents follow these patients in their clinic over the course of the remainder of their residency. Subspecialty continuity clinic is available in pediatric allergy/immunology, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, nephrology, neurology, neurodevelopmental pediatrics and pulmonology. |
