Second Year
The second year is a transition year in which primary diagnostic and management skills are more sharply honed and subspecialty consultative skills are developed. In addition, the roles of supervisor and teacher are introduced in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

2nd Year Pediatric Residency

  • Inpatient Service (2 months)
  • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (1 month)
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (1 month)
  • Acute Care Clinic/ Emergency Medicine (2 months)
  • Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics (1 month)*
  • Subspecialty Electives (5 months)
  • Continuity Clinic (1 day/week)

* Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine electives are required in the second or third year.
