Third Year

The third year resident assumes many roles including patient care manager, clinical team supervisor, and educator. These skills are practiced in many settings: inpatient, outpatient, primary care and subspecialty care.

3rd Year Pediatric Residency

  • Inpatient Service Teaching Chief (1 month)
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (1 month)
  • Newborn Nursery (1 month)
  • Acute Care Clinic/ Peds Emergency Dept. (2 months)
  • Community Medicine (1 month)*
  • Adolescent Medicine (1 month)*
  • Subspecialty Electives (5 months)
  • Continuity Clinic (1 day/week)

* Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine electives are required in the second or third year.
