Call provides an excellent opportunity for real life learning experiences and enhances skills for independent decisions.
First-year residents participate in “Rookie Call” for the first 12 months. The first year resident stays in-house and is paired with a more experienced resident until 9 pm one night per week and one weekend day per month. First-year residents complete full four-week rotations in all major areas before taking solo call. An attending is always in-house.
Short call hours:
5 pm - 9:30 pm weekdays
Night float hours:
9 pm - 7:00 am, Monday through Thursday 9 pm - 8 am, Friday and Saturday
8 am - 9 pm, Saturday and Sunday
9 pm - 7:00 am
Angio/Interventional Home Call During Angio/Interventional rotation.
ACGME duty our regulations are strictly adhered to.
A general radiology attending is in-house until 10 pm every day, including holidays and weekends. Internal nighthawks works from 10 pm to 7am every day and are a resource for residents on call. In addition, a neuroradiologist, interventional radiologist and a nuclear medicine radiologist are either in-house or available 24/7.
