About the Fellowship
Thank you for your interest in Geisinger’s Nephrology Fellowship Program.
The Nephrology Fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center is a two-year program that provides comprehensive training for Internal Medicine graduates planning careers in clinical and academic nephrology. Our mission is to produce excellent Nephrologists, competent to practice all aspects of Nephrology.
Nephrology fellowship outpatient rotations include nephrology clinic, transplant clinic, outpatient hemodialysis, home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
In addition, there are monthly pathology conference, case presentations, clinical pathologic conference and weekly didactic lectures and workshops. Fellows have a dedicated research rotation as well as an opportunity to participate in a national conference annually.
With a clinical learning environment balanced between inpatient rotations, outpatient clinics, outpatient hemodialysis exposure, conferences, didactic lectures, and research, Nephrology Fellows at Geisinger are exposed to all aspects encountered in general nephrology and transplant nephrology. Geisinger has an active kidney transplant program, with dedicated surgeons and transplant nephrologists.
