Fingerprinting Pennsylvania Act 73 of 2007 requires that as of July 1, 2008, any prospective employees of a child care service, self-employed family day care operators and individuals applying for employment with a significant likelihood of regular contact with children must obtain a fingerprint based FBI clearance as a condition of employment. The fingerprinting requirement must be completed before you may begin at Geisinger. Federal Criminal History Report (FCHR)
The fingerprint-based background check is a multiple-step process which must be completed in the state of Pennsylvania: - The applicant must register prior to arriving at the fingerprint site. Walk-in service without prior registration will not be provided at any fingerprinting location. Registration is available online 24 hours/day, seven days per week at www.pa.cogentid.com and select Department of Public Welfare (DPW).

Registration Status and Proof of Print Transaction may be viewed online and printed from the Cogent systems website at http://www.pa.cogentid.com/dpw.
