The student will be evaluated by attendings with resident input. Grades will be distributed as Honors, High Pass, Pass, or Fail based on the following criteria:

  • Active participation in the daily care of Endocrine patients
  • Daily presentations during rounds
  • Ability to work with all members of the health care
  • History taking and physical examinations skills
  • Clinical judgment
  • Ability to generate appropriate differential diagnoses
  • Obtainment of fund of knowledge appropriate for level of training
  • Procedural competency (i.e., willingness to learn, assist and perform at an appropriate level)
  • Oral presentations
  • Ability to access and utilize the electronic health record
  • Communication and professionalism
  • Attendance 
  • Participation in active learning (reviewing the medical literature, text and educational resource utilization)

Visiting students also should provide any evaluation forms from their respective institutions to be completed at rotation’s end. All students must complete and return a clerkship evaluation form to Ms. Tracey Lepley prior to departing. Medical student input is strongly encouraged to achieve our ongoing educational objectives.
