Gynecology 6 am: Rounds on patients 7:30 am: Attend surgery - The case to attend is determined by your resident and/or attending. If you are not in surgery, you should be present at morning “board report” in the L&D conference room. 3 - 5 pm: Afternoon rounds on patients. Obstetrics 6 am: Rounds on 1-2 patients 6:15 - 7:30 am: Presenting patients with assistance from the residents 7:30 - 8:30 am: Board report - presentations of patients on L&D by residents/students 8:30 am - 5:30 pm: Covering L&D - new admissions, triage patients, active labor patients, and high-risk labor patients Clinic 7:30 am: Board report in the workroom if you are at the Danville Campus for clinic 8 am: Danville campus clinic - work with attending on patients for the day’s schedule 8:30 am: Outreach clinic - work with attending on patients for the day’s schedule Lectures Several lectures are scheduled throughout your rotation on various days and times. These lectures are given by faculty attendings or nurse practioners on a chosen topic. Thursdays are all day lectures, starting 7 am, given by faculty and residents. Rounds on patients start 6 am. Call Each student is scheduled for at least 4 - 5 overnight calls. Call starts at 5 pm and lasts until the next morning at 8 am Weekend call may be scheduled which runs from 7am to 8 am the following morning. |
