Grades are determined by written evaluations completed by residents and attending faculty. Students select which residents/faculty are request ed to provide an evaluation. The clerkship director may request additional evaluations from other residents/faculty.

Some of the factors which are assessed by these evaluations include the student’s: skills in physical exam, synthesis of clinical data, knowledge of diseases and conditions, knowledge of management of diseases and conditions, professionalism, and skills in patient-physician interaction.
