- 1-2 weeks on the gynecology service focusing on participation in the surgical care of patients, post-operative care, the emergency department, and inpatient consultations.
- 1 week of outpatient clinics.
- Night calls.
3rd year 6-Week Rotation | - 1-2 weeks on the obstetrical service emphasizing participation in the care of antepartum, laboring, and post-partum patients.
- 1-2 weeks on the gynecology service with participation in the surgical care of patients, post-operative care, the emergency department, and inpatient consultations.
- 1 week of outpatient clinics.
- Varying amounts of time may be spent with the subspecialty divisions, depending on individual student learning interests.
- Night calls.
Electives for fourth-year medical or osteopathic students are generally four weeks in length. These include time spent in clinic and operating room, attendance at lectures, rounds, labor & delivery (depending on the elective), and night call. |
