Daily

  • 7 - 8:15 am: Prerounds
  • 7:30 – 8 am: Pediatric morning report. If prerounding tasks complete (sign out, exams, data gathering) all medical students are welcome at resident morning report)
  • 8:15 – 10:30 am: Attending rounds (refer to Rounding in the PICU document for format)
  • 12:30 pm: Pediatric noon conference
  • 4:30: Sign out rounds

Weekly

  • Tuesday: 12:30 pm, pediatric grand rounds
  • Thursday: 3 pm, medical student simulation lab
  • Friday: 3 pm, medical student critical care presentations

Middle of rotation
Attending - student discussion

End of rotation
Student evaluation and exit interview

Due to the dynamic nature of any critical care setting, the above is a framework that may require adjustments based on PICU conditions.
