About us

Geisinger’s Diagnostic Radiology Residency has been in existence for more than 60 years. As Geisinger Health System grows, so the Department of Radiology continues to grow, utilizing the most modern equipment and practices. Our goal is to graduate residents prepared to meet the challenges of current and future radiology practice.

Program highlights

  • High volume practice with very high percentage of pathology
  • Main campus includes women’s imaging; the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital; The Hospital for Advanced Medicine; Level 1 Regional Trauma Center; and liver, kidney and bone marrow transplant services
  • Major center for genomic research
  • ACGME accredited radiology residency program with 24 residents
  • All digital department with PACS
  • Electronic medical record system (EPIC) integrated with PACS
  • Speech recognition dictation
  • 1.5 and 3T MRI magnets
  • PET/CT fusion imaging
  • Cardiac CT and cardiac MRI
  • Obstetric sonography for first, second and third trimester performed in the radiology department
  • 3D post-processing lab
  • New state-of-the-art interventional radiology suites
  • Classroom with audio and visual teleconferencing capability

  • Recent increase in faculty with current total 42 (almost all fellowship trained)
  • ACGME accredited Vascular & Interventional Fellowship
