Geisinger becomes the first member of Risant Health

SCRANTON – Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine will host nutrition expert Michael Klaper, MD, at a community lecture on the benefits of a plant-based diet on May 16. The lecture, Disease Reversal with a Plant-Based Diet, will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine Auditorium, 525 Pine St., Scranton.

According to Klaper, common conditions such as obesity, hypertension and Type 2 diabetes are almost uniformly linked to lifestyle. He’ll explain how transitioning to a diet with less fat, salt and processed foods can prevent or reverse these diseases.

RSVP by May 8 at go.geisinger.edu/preventivemed23 and enjoy a free plant-based dinner following the lecture.
