Robert J. Dietz

Chair

Robert J. Dietz, PE, was appointed to the Geisinger Health Board of Directors in October 2014. Mr. Dietz serves as a member of the Audit and Compliance, Geisinger Family and Emergency Action committees of the board. In addition, he also serves as a member of the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine board and the Geisinger Affiliates board.

Mr. Dietz retired as President and COO of Gannett Fleming, Inc. in early 2009. Mr. Dietz continued to serve on the Board of Directors of Gannett Fleming Affiliates Inc., owner of Gannett Fleming Inc., until June 2013.

Mr. Dietz received a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Science from Lehigh University in 1965 and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1966. He became a registered professional engineer in 10 states and a member of numerous professional societies including the National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), the American Road and Transportation Builders Association, and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA).

He is a past chairman of the international High Speed Ground Transportation Association. Mr. Dietz was honored as Engineer of the Year in 2003 by the Central Pennsylvania Chapters of the both the National Society of Professional Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers.

He is active in community affairs and is a past chair of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber. He previously served as an ambassador with Team Pennsylvania, chairman of Leadership-Harrisburg Area, chairman of the Trinity High School Development Board, and the Trinity Action Council for Teens and as a member of the Envision Capital Region Steering Committee. In 1998 Mr. Dietz was named as one of the regions “Movers and Shakers” by the Central Penn Business Journal. In addition to his family, Mr. Dietz enjoys outdoor activities including gardening, skiing and golf.

Mr. Dietz is married, has three children and eight grandchildren, and currently resides in Camp Hill, PA, with his wife, Ellen.
