1. Critical Care Medicine Simulation Program

  • Who: CCM and PCCM fellows

2. Emergency Medicine Medical Student Procedure Lab

  • Who: Medical students
  • Faculty: Mark Olaf, MD and upper level residents
  • When: 2x/month – 10/23/18, 11/6/18, 11/20/18, 12/4/18, 12/18/18 (1 - 3 p.m.)

  • Brief detail: Learners will rotate each session - central line course, LP training, suturing stations and CPR/mock codes.

3. General Surgery Simulation Program

  • Who: General surgery residents

  • Brief detail: General surgery has a yearly curriculum that involves the following simulations: central line, knot tying, suturing, FLS, ultrasound, FRS dry lab, FES, stapling, bowel anastomosis, endoscopic lab, standardized patient Programs, FAST, cadaver lab (held in the morgue) and vascular labs.

4. Internal Medicine Medical Student Simulation Lab

  • Brief detail: To develop basic CPR skills and AED use.

5. Internal Medicine/Med Peds High Fidelity Simulation Program

  • Who: Internal medicine and med peds residents

6. Internal Medicine OMM Training Program

  • Who: Osteopathic residents

7. Interprofessional Mock Code Simulation Program

  • Who: Physicians, nursing, pharmacy, etc.
  • Faculty: Doug Kupas, MD
  • When: 3x/month - 1st and 3rd Wednesday and every 3rd Monday (1:30 - 2:30 p.m.)
  • Where: Emergency Medicine Simulation Lab and/or HFAM7
  • Brief detail: Interprofessional mock codes using SimMan Essential.

8. Neurology Stroke Alert Simulation Program

  • Who: Neurology residents
  • Faculty: Kelly Baldwin, MD, Christopher Cummings, MD, Cynthia Correll, MD
  • When:
    • SP training date: 6/25/18 (2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
    • SP session date: 7/13/18 (Noon - 5 p.m.)
  • Where: GEMS Simulation Center
  • Brief detail: This is a full day simulation/standardized patient session for neurology residents to review skills on the following cases: Ischemic Stroke, Intracranial Hemorrhage and Status Epilepticus. Each resident will rotate through case scenarios in the timeframe provide. Curriculum available upon request.

9. Obstetrics and Gynecology Simulation Boot Camp

  • Who: Residents
  • Faculty: Brytanie Marshall, MD; Ashlee Smith, DO; Deanna Mascho-Cawley, DO
  • When: 6/28/18 (8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
  • Where: GEMS Simulation Center
  • Brief detail: Normal/operative/breech delivery, shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage and eclamptic seizure. Curriculum available upon request.

10. Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing Orientation Simulation Program

  • Who: Nurses
  • Faculty: Elissa Concini, RN
  • When: 1x/month
  • Where: GEMS Simulation Center/Geisinger Bloomsburg
  • Brief detail: Postpartum hemorrhage, seizure, shoulder dystocia. Curriculum available upon request.

11. Obstetrics and Gynecology Interprofessional Simulation Program

  • Who: Residents, nursing, physicians
  • Faculty: Brytanie Marshall, MD
  • When: 1/24/19, 4/11/19, 6/13/19 (7 - 10 a.m.)
  • Where: GEMS Simulation Center
  • Brief detail: Workshops will consist of the following topics: shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, hypertensive emergency, and eclampsia. Rooms will consist of SimMom, SimBaby, PROMPT task trainer and Baby, LapSim, FLS boxes, suturing stations, SonoSim and a communication didactic room. Curriculum available upon request.

12. Pediatric Interprofessional Simulation Program

  • Who: Residents, nursing, physician assistants, physicians 
  • Faculty: Dan Rogers, MD; Jennifer Diep, MD; chief resident
  • When: 11/20/18, 12/18/18 (1:45-2:45pm)
  • Where: CH2/CH3 Patient Room
  • Brief detail: Interprofessional scenarios on CH2/CH3, new scenario each time. Curriculum available upon request.

13. Pediatric Resident Simulation

14. PICU Interprofessional Simulation
