Research elective cost of attendance

2022 – 2023

Direct cost: Tuition and fees (educational expenses)

Direct billable costs are those costs for which you will receive in an invoice from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM). Tuition and fees are always direct billable costs.

Tuition for a research elective is charged on a per credit basis for the 2022 – 2023 academic year. The cost per credit is $260. Below are the other required program educational fees:

  • Student technology fee: $528 ($264 per semester)
  • Estimated health insurance fee: $5,000 ($2,500 per semester)
  • Disability fee: $50

Indirect cost: Living expenses (non-educational expenses)

Indirect costs are costs you can incur while attending GCSOM, but not paid to GCSOM. Examples of indirect costs include books and supplies, transportation, personal expenses and off-campus living expenses

Indirect costs are prorated according to the length of the student’s program and are listed below:

  • Rent/utilities: $9,448
  • Food: $4,049
  • Miscellaneous: $9,168
  • Transportation: $2,801

If you do not need to borrow one or more of the indirect living expense resources listed above, you can reduce your student loan on Empower Web when accepting your financial aid award package.

 

2021 – 2022

  • Student technology fee: $520.00 ($260.00 per semester)
  • Estimated health insurance fee: $5,000.00 ($2,500.00 per semester)
  • Disability fee: $50.00
