MBS students & MD interviews

Based on meeting established criteria listed below, current MBS students and graduates of the program will be guaranteed an interview for the MD program.

  • Graduates of the MBS program will be offered an interview for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine provided they are in the top 20 percent of the class, have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate science grade point average, scored a minimum of a 502 on the MCAT 2015, provided letters of recommendation (LOR) from Geisinger Commonwealth faculty supporting their candidacy and submitted a professionalism competency form completed by the program director. In addition, students must meet all professionalism requirements which include no institutional actions, felonies or misdemeanors listed on the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) application. Finally, students must successfully complete all post-graduate work.
  • Current students in the MBS program will be given an interview for the MD program at Geisinger Commonwealth if they are in the top 20 percent of the class based on two quarter grades, have a minimum 3.25 undergraduate science grade point average, scored a minimum of a 502 on the MCAT 2015, provided letters of recommendation (LOR) from Geisinger Commonwealth faculty supporting their candidacy and submitted a professionalism competency form completed by the program director. In addition, students must meet all professionalism requirements which include no institutional actions, felonies or misdemeanors listed on the AMCAS application. Finally, students must successfully complete all post-graduate work.

Graduates and current MBS students who do not meet the above-mentioned criteria may still be invited for an MD interview if their application credentials merit one.
