Role as research mentor
As a Medical Research Honors Program (MRHP) research mentor you will:
- Guide the student though the proposed research project until their graduation
- Establish a mutually agreed upon schedule to meet project aims and ensure research progress
- Provide financial support required for the completion of the proposed research project
- Act as principal investigator on any new IRB protocol(s)
- Communicate with the student as needed
- Attend the student’s mentoring committee meetings twice per year in the months of February and August
- Review/provide input on student’s project proposal and final thesis, along with any other scholarly writing such as abstracts, presentations, manuscript
