Geisinger's Department of Critical Care Medicine accepts four fellows annually into our Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited two-year fellowship program.

In order to qualify, an applicant must be a graduate of an accredited medical school, have completed an accredited U.S. internal medicine or emergency medicine residency program and be board eligible in internal medicine or emergency medicine per American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)/American Board of Emergency Medicine(ABEM) guidelines.

Application process

Applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Refer to the ERAS website for directions regarding this process. Paper or incomplete applications will not be accepted or reviewed. Submit a complete application including all of the information listed below:

  • Application form
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement
  • Medical school transcript
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation (one must be from program director of prior residency or fellowship)

Due to the ongoing pandemic, follow ERAS updates for deadlines. This year, we will be conducting virtual interviews. Once an application has been reviewed through ERAS and accepted for interview, further instructions will be communicated about our virtual interview days.
