Cassiopia Lippold, MD and Alexis MacDonald, MD, were elected by fellow faculty, both recognized for demonstrating strong leadership and academic qualities during their first year of fellowship. Both were actively involved in high quality research, medical student/resident/fellow education and multiple committees including quality improvement, scheduling and pandemic response.
Dr. MacDonald is originally from Cooperstown, N.Y. Prior to medical residency, she had vast experience in orthopedic medical sales. She has a pet poodle named Nike. Her interests include hiking, kayaking and international travel. Future aspirations for her critical care career include working in underserved and rural areas.
Dr. Lippold calls Tarkington, Texas (outside of Cleveland) home. Prior to critical care fellowship, she completed a nephrology fellowship. She has an older sister and a pet dog named Stitch. Interests include arts and crafts, rafting, hiking and kayaking. Future aspirations for her critical care career include continued academia and leadership in medical training programs.
