Why Geisinger: As a PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency program applicant, I was first drawn to Geisinger Medical Center because it is an academic medical center that is not only a Comprehensive Stroke Center but also a Level I Trauma Center. From the moment I interviewed with our residency program director, Dr. Angela Slampak-Cindric, and the other members of the critical care pharmacy team, I knew that I found the program I was hoping for and more. Coming here and experiencing firsthand the supportive and welcoming environment for clinical care pharmacy by collaborative patient care teams, I am deeply thankful and proud to have matched at Geisinger Medical Center where I know I will receive robust training in specialized intensive care units by exceptional critical care clinicians.

Alexandria Lehman, PharmD
PGY-1 residency: Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA
Interests: Critical care, emergency medicine, toxicology, public health
Why Geisinger? I was drawn to Geisinger because of the vast opportunities and experiences from which I can learn. Clinically, I desired an academic medical center where I would be involved in daily learning and interdisciplinary team-based rounding where pharmacists are valued and have a direct impact on patient care. Geisinger provides care to high acuity patient populations, with the patients truly at the center of that care. I am grateful to be able to train from and with such invested, intelligent pharmacists and healthcare professionals.
