What research opportunities are available?
In keeping with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements, our residents are involved in quality improvement projects. These are designed to improve medical care, patient safety, workflow and resident education. Many residents are also involved in research. If you pursue research opportunities, grants are available.
What types of mentorship programs do you have?
At the start of your residency, you’ll be assigned a med-peds associate program director who will connect you with a mentor in your area of interest. You’ll meet with them monthly for individualized coaching and mentorship. Depending on your interests and preferences, you may opt for more than one mentor. You’ll also be paired with an upper level med-peds resident during your intern year. This connection provides you with mentorship and guidance and helps upper-level residents develop their mentorship/leadership skills.
