COVID-19 vaccine mandate
Effective Nov. 5, 2021, all Geisinger employees, medical staff, residents, fellows, trainees, students, volunteers and temporary staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. An exemption process is available for those who have a documented and very specific medical reason or sincerely held religious belief that precludes them from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Given the anticipated increase in demand for COVID vaccines, vaccine appointments may be limited. Be sure to schedule an appointment as soon as possible, from anywhere vaccines are available. Coming from Nepal to a new country and a new health system was always going to be challenging, but the transition for me has been as smooth as it can possibly be. My co-residents are like my family here. For me, the camaraderie of the program stands out the most. I have fallen in love with this place and the people in my short time here and am grateful for every day in this institution. We are well supported and taught by passionate leaders in every department. I feel that there is stellar training and a learning environment tailored to help its residents thrive. One word that truly captures what Geisinger stands for is ‘caring,’ and it resonates in every corner of this institution.”
