Why Geisinger? During my third year of pharmacy school, I knew I wanted to pursue further training in ambulatory care. After doing my research, I discovered Geisinger’s ambulatory care program. I became excited about the PGY1 program and the different electives offered as part of the curriculum. After speaking with some of the pharmacists at midyear and during interviews, I fell in love with what Geisinger’s ambulatory care program had to offer. Geisinger’s ambulatory care program allows pharmacists to work at the top of their licenses. The extensive collaborative practice agreement allows pharmacists to provide optimal patient care while being part of an interdisciplinary team. Lastly, being able to have learning experiences in specialties like cardiology and hepatology further drew me in. I am excited to be a part of such a wonderful team of pharmacists who work together and put patients' needs first.

Why Geisinger? Throughout pharmacy school, I had numerous rotations at Geisinger, and I particularly enjoyed how pharmacists are valued in the ambulatory care setting. Geisinger allows pharmacists to work at the top of their license as a part of an interdisciplinary team, which is something I wanted in a residency program. In addition, there are ample opportunities to gain experience within specialty areas beyond primary care. The wide variety of learning experiences allowed me to customize my schedule to my interests. Geisinger’s robust residency program will give me the confidence and skills needed to become an independent, well-rounded pharmacist.
