Pharmacy education

Inpatient pharmacists at Geisinger Health System are educators as well as integral and active members of interprofessional care teams. While overseeing optimal, safe and cost effective medication therapy management using evidenced based medicine to improve patient care outcomes, they also actively participate in experiential education and training for pharmacy students, residents and fellows. Our pharmacists:

  • Provide accredited educational programming for medical, nursing and pharmacy professionals and students on a vast array of pharmacotherapeutic topics
  • Share didactic education at the bedside for our interprofessional care teams
  • Contribute to internal communications (newsletters and monographs) that promote the safe and effective use of medications
  • Offer patient and provider education
