Donor
How do donors, sponsors, and funders help to advance research?
Donors participate in research by providing financial support for Geisinger’s research activities. These contributions can either be general or targeted to a specific disease or topic of interest.
Why is it important?
With an ambitious vision to build a hospital and make it the best, Abigail Geisinger opened the George F. Geisinger Memorial Hospital nearly 100 years ago with a single donation. Much has changed since her transformational gift, but some things remain the same. Generous contributions from our employees and community keep Geisinger at the forefront of medicine and uphold Abigail Geisinger’s vision of providing quality healthcare for everyone.
While undesignated gifts provide Geisinger with the most flexibility to use the funds to meet urgent needs or advance strategic priorities, you may designate that your gift go to a specific fund, hospital, initiative, or project that is particularly important to you.
How can you become a donor?
- By making a one-time or recurring gift or a tribute gift to honor a loved one
- By establishing an endowment or through bequests and legacies

A mock MRI scanner funded by the Geisinger Medical Center Auxiliary is now in place at ADMI. The scanner mimics the sound and feel of a real MRI scanner, allowing kids to “practice” before having the real (and much more expensive) scan.
