Brent A. Williams, PhD

Research Interests

Dr. Williams' research interests focus on the optimal incorporation of cardiac imaging technologies in clinical practice. In particular, his research focuses on the comparative effectiveness of competing imaging modalities on downstream resource utilization, health care costs, and clinical outcomes. He is also interested in improving the pre-imaging prediction of the likelihood of prevalent coronary artery disease as a means to minimize inappropriate testing and improving the yield of cardiac imaging. A secondary research objective is to improve the understanding of commonly-measured, yet under-studied, biomarkers as indicators of cardiovascular pathology and guides for optimizing treatment.
