CFPA 201: Essential concepts for advanced practice preceptors
This course is asynchronous and self-paced, consisting of 4 course modules with optional supplemental learning materials included. There is no requirement for predetermined lecture or activity times, and course modules can be completed over several days or weeks, up to 3 months from the date of enrollment. Assessments of learning are embedded throughout the course modules, with brief tests of knowledge before and after completion of each module. The course culminates in a multiple-choice exam where an 80% score is required to pass and earn your certificate of completion.
Program goals include providing students with an evidence-based approach to clinical teaching, feedback strategies to enhance performance, evidence-based assessment and evaluation techniques for advanced practice learners, and how to provide a psychologically safe learning environment.
The course generally requires 6 hours to complete. Course enrollment is set for 90 days with the option for extension by request.
