About us

Sean Devine, MD, MBA, program director

As a pulmonary/critical care fellow, your training will take place primarily at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), Danville, Pa., the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region. GMC is licensed for 575 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children's Hospital. GMC, a Magnet hospital, maintains the region's only Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center, providing our fellows with a broad clinical experience.

GMC's critical care units are staffed by a team of specialists trained in critical care and pulmonary medicine. Both units are equipped with innovative technology and monitoring equipment used to monitor patients remotely, allowing our staff a higher level of care for the most critical of patients. GMC serves as one of five helicopter bases for Life Flight®, our regional helicopter service providing critical patients rapid transportation and access to advanced life support.

GMC's surrounding rural population, coupled with our extensive trauma referrals, provide fellows a unique and diverse setting for pulmonary/critical care training.
