Why I chose Geisinger: When searching for a residency program, I was looking for a tertiary referral center with a wide patient base and diverse pathology, an emphasis on education balanced with service, and a supportive, friendly environment where I could become part of a residency family. As I am originally from south-central PA, I was honored to enter a training program that has served as a referral center to rural Pennsylvania communities, such as my hometown.

Favorite Thing About the Program: If you're catching me on a serious day, my favorite thing is the camaraderie within our work room. We work some long hours, but it's worth it when you're surrounded by supportive (and fun) coworkers and more importantly, friends. If you're catching me on a not-so-serious day, my favorite thing is being able to grab a milkshake in the cafeteria and going to sit with the turtles in the children's hospital.
Why I chose Geisinger: The warm, welcoming feeling I got during virtual interviews, the incredible teaching faculty, the robust fellowship opportunities, and the overall reputation. The ability to train at such a robust, resourceful institution while still having the close-knit feel of a small community is an incredibly unique experience.

Why I chose Geisinger: I chose Geisinger for my residency training because it is a great place to learn and work for several reasons. The hospital is a large tertiary care center with a large catchment which allows residents to treat a wide variety of pathology. At the same time, the residency program has a close-knit feel which fosters the opportunity to develop close relationships with mentors and fellow trainees. The overall residency culture is one in which faculty and residents are deeply in vested in helping each other perform at the highest level.
