Geisinger’s Diagnostic Radiology Residency has been in existence for more than 60 years. As Geisinger grows, so the Department of Radiology continues to grow, utilizing the most modern equipment and practices. Our goal is to graduate residents prepared to meet the challenges of current and future radiology practice.

  • High volume practice with very high percentage of pathology
  • Main campus includes women’s imaging; the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital; The Hospital for Advanced Medicine; Level 1 Regional Trauma Center; and liver, kidney and bone marrow transplant services

  • Electronic medical record system (EPIC) integrated with PACS
  • Fluency speech recognition dictation
  • 1.5 and 3T MRI magnets

  • Cardiac CT and cardiac MRI
  • Dual energy CT
  • Obstetric sonography for first, second and third trimester performed in the radiology department

  • New state-of-the-art interventional radiology suites

  • Faculty current total: 72 (almost all fellowship trained)
