Our program accepts four fellows per year. We accept applications through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), and we participate in the National Resident Matching Program.

Application requirements
Applicants must have:
- Graduated from an approved United States or Canadian medical school, OR
- ECFMG certification for graduates of other medical schools outside North America.
Applicants holding visas should be certain that their visa status will permit completion of training and that they qualify for a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania training license before applying to the program.
Other requirements include:
- Completion of an ACGME accredited three-year residency in internal medicine with demonstration of superior performance during residency
- Completed ERAS application
- All applicants must have passed USMLE or COMLEX and provide transcripts via ERAS
- Up-to-date curriculum vitae
- Photo
- Personal statement
- At least three letters of recommendation, including one from the current program director
- Medical school transcript
- International graduates must submit a copy of their ECFMG to ERAS
- For those applicants who are not U.S. citizens, visa status should be documented
- Board certification in internal medicine is required at the earliest opportunity (must be completed before completion of fellowship training)
Interviews
Interviews are held virtually in September and October. All interviewed candidates will be extended an invitation to visit the hospital(s) prior to the completion of the interview season. Attending this optional visit will not impact consideration for matching with the program.
