How to apply

Geisinger's Neurology Residency program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) matching candidates.

Our four-year ACGME Accredited categorical Neurology Residency Program accepts four PGY-1 resident trainees to begin in July of each year. Applicants are selected for interviews based on internal program standards (summarized on ERAS).

We are committed to diversity and inclusion among residents and faculty. We encourage candidates from underrepresented minorities to apply to our program.

Interview process

Geisinger's Neurology Residency Program will be holding virtual interviews for the 2023 season. Interviews will begin in October and conclude in December. All applicants meeting interview criteria will be invited to participate in five one-on-one interviews with core faculty members as well as a Q&A session with current residents of our program the night before the interview date. A program overview will also be provided to all interviewees as part of the interview day. Post interview communication is not required or expected from applicants.

I am very happy I chose Geisinger to complete my neurology residency. The faculty are excited to teach. My co-residents are welcoming, supportive and willing to help with any questions. As an intern, you spend a lot of time on neurology, so you always feel connected, and your time on medicine is extremely beneficial. You will find that Geisinger provides a world-class education, while not being one of those toxic, super-competitive environments. Across the board, my attendings have been excellent doctors who want to see you do well and are willing to teach when you don't know the answer to a question."
