Apply/contact
Amidst the COVID restrictions, Geisinger's Orthopaedic Surgery Northeast Residency will still participate in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) matching candidates.
Resident selection overview
A Geisinger orthopaedic surgery residency length is 5 years. Our Orthopaedic Surgery Northeast Residency program accepts 4 PGY1 resident trainees who begin on July 1 of each year. We select interviewees based on review of their applications with emphasis on medical school transcripts, letters of recommendation and USMLE scores.
The interview process takes place virtually in December and January. If you are selected to interview, you will meet with faculty members and residents in small group sessions.
Medical student rotations: traditional offered
All qualified applicants seeking a residency in orthopaedics are openly encouraged to apply. Learn more about our medical student clerkship (fourth year sub-internship) rotation.
