Free Tiny Trot race offered for children ages 13 and younger

Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM) students will host their 10th annual Turkey Trot 5K/10K run in downtown Scranton on Sunday, Nov. 3, beginning with race-day registration at 7 a.m. in the main lobby of Geisinger Commonwealth’s Medical Sciences Building located at 525 Pine Street, Scranton. The event will also feature a Tiny Trot, including crafts, games, face painting and relay races, for children ages 13 and younger, beginning at 8 a.m. Both the 5K and 10K runs will begin at 8:30 a.m. and routes begin and end at the school’s Medical Sciences Building. Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit charitable organization, Friends of the Poor.

Online registration is currently open and will close on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 11:59 p.m. All registrants will receive a T-shirt (while supplies last - the deadline to pre-register and receive a T-shirt is Saturday, Oct. 12; anyone who registers after this date is not guaranteed a T-shirt.). For participants ages 14 and older, registration prior to race day is $25 for the 5K and $35 for the 10K. Prices for the 5k and 10k will increase to $30 and $40, respectively, on race day. For those aged 13 and younger, Tiny Trot registration is free, but a donation of two canned goods on race day is appreciated. If you are not participating as a runner but still wish to donate, please follow the link below.

*Daylight savings time occurs on Nov. 3; remember to set clocks back one hour for race day!*
