The academy has more than 280 members across the Geisinger system, including faculty and staff from a variety of health professions and institutes.

Member benefits and events

As a member of the Geisinger Academy of Educators, you’ll have the recognition and support you need to grow your career. Members have access to educator resources, mentorship, development and networking opportunities, such as:

  • Opportunities to engage in the educator community at Geisinger with participation in communities of practice
  • Lunch and Learn discussions
  • Development opportunities: CV writing and educator portfolio writing workshops
  • Support in educational scholarship
  • Academy of Educators events: Town Halls, Induction and Advancement Ceremony, community events 

Together, we’ll help you enhance your teaching skills and foster innovation in education.

Laura Campbell

Levels of membership

The Geisinger Academy of Educators offers four levels of membership:

Protégé

Applications for Protégé level will open in AY 24-25 to trainees, including residents, fellows and post-doctoral researchers, with an interest in education.

Member

Candidates for Member level must demonstrate excellence in 1 educator activity category. 

Senior member

Candidates for Senior Member level must demonstrate excellence in at least 3 educator activity categories. 

Distinguished member

Candidates for Distinguished Member level must demonstrate excellence in at least 5 educator activity categories.

Distinguished Member with Honors

Academy of Educators Member by the Teaching Awards Committee. Criteria for this award is being developed and this membership level will be awarded in AY 24-25.

How to apply

The Geisinger Academy of Educators is open to educators in all learning environments, including clinical, degree-granting and research, across the Geisinger system.
