Why Geisinger? As an aspiring sleep medicine applicant, I was keenly interested in joining a fellowship that offered training guidance from multiple perspectives. It was an easy decision to choose Geisinger after realizing the varied background of core faculty including internal and family medicine, pediatrics and neurology. What additionally solidified my decision was my interaction with faculty during my interview, especially Dr. Naik as she was very confident in advocating for a steady paced, structured learning environment with an inherent focus on fellow well-being. As a New Jersey native, Geisinger’s close proximity to home and access to multiple metropolitan cities while being a large integrated health system sealed the deal!

The interview day experience further bolstered my conviction to pursue sleep medicine fellowship here. I chose Geisinger sleep medicine because of the emphasis on comprehensive clinical training and the collegial environment. The diverse background of the clinical faculty stood out for me. The schedule structure, didactic and scholarly opportunities were highly appealing. I truly believe the holistic approach of the program in training clinicians, academics and future leaders in sleep medicine will help me build the necessary skill set to confidently pursue my future professional and personal aspirations.
