Sleep Medicine Fellowship
Geisinger’s Sleep Medicine Fellowship prepares you to diagnose and treat adult and pediatric sleep disorders — and to serve as medical director of a sleep lab.
About us
If you’re a physician who’s completed your primary training in internal medicine, family medicine, neurology, pediatrics, psychiatry anesthesia or otolaryngology, you’re eligible for Geisinger’s Sleep Medicine Fellowship program.
As our sleep medicine fellow, you’ll train for one year with faculty who come from specialties as diverse as those listed above. Along with offering their clinical expertise, they conduct research and serve as leaders at Geisinger and national organizations.
You’ll work with a patient population drawn from urban, suburban and rural areas, broadening your scope of practice and gaining experience in chronic respiratory failure/home mechanical ventilation and hypoglossal nerve stimulation.
Geisinger was one of the first health systems in the nation to adopt Epic EMR more than 25 years ago. Epic captures the majority of care for people living in our geographic region, giving you unique opportunities in the research we’ll encourage you to undertake and publish.
Our program goals are:
- To train well-rounded, compassionate physicians who can provide comprehensive care for all sleep disorders, including hypersomnias, insomnia, parasomnias and sleep breathing disorders for patients of all ages
- To educate our fellows about the business of sleep medicine, including the role of medical director of a sleep lab
- To prioritize personal wellness and healthy sleep while rising to the challenges of patient care, leadership and scholarship
Our curriculum focuses on the following rotations:
- Adult sleep medicine
