Vascular Neurology Fellowship

Join Geisinger’s Vascular Neurology Fellowship program, based at a hospital with a Comprehensive Stroke Center, where you’ll treat a variety of patients and pathologies.

About us

Prasanna Tadi, MD, program director

Geisinger’s Vascular Neurology Fellowship Program has a simple goal — to train competent, professional leaders in a specialty that requires calm, capable thinkers who are willing to stay current with research and innovation in the field.

Our one-year, ACGME-accredited Vascular Neurology Fellowship program is headquartered at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. We have a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center with a large referral base, and we’re part of a system with six total Comprehensive and Primary Stroke Centers that serve rural and urban areas.

One of our program’s biggest assets is our faculty. You’ll work with experienced mentors who are focused on your success, and who are always available to provide you with guidance.

Because we’re uniquely positioned in an urban center that’s close to large rural areas, you’ll see a wide variety of conditions — common and uncommon.

Our Vascular Neurology Fellowship is truly focused on you. We’ll adapt to your career goals and provide you with dedicated time for research and electives.

And although this is a demanding field, we’ll make sure you enjoy the work-life balance you need, without overnight call.

Other program highlights include:

  • Potential opportunity for the Geisinger Neuroendovascular Surgery Fellowship in collaboration with the Neurosurgery Department
  • Opportunity to attend the annual International Stroke Conference or the Wake Forest Neurovascular Ultrasound Course fully sponsored by the program
  • Sponsorship of both H1B and J1 visas
  • Moonlighting opportunity with approval by the program director and designated institutional official
  • Generous time for continuing medical education and vacation
  • Wellness initiatives

Exceptional fellows have the potential to join us as faculty after their fellowships.

We truly value our fellows as colleagues and people, and we hope you’ll consider joining us.
