V. Chris Holcombe, PE

V. Chris Holcombe, PE, is president of Milton Steel Inc., a business that he owns with his father. Milton Steel is a structural steel fabrication company that has been in business in Milton since 1927, manufacturing bridges, pallet storage racks, fuel storage tanks and steel for new building construction. The company’s Acrow bridges ship worldwide. The business employs 179 people. The firm is currently supplying bridges to aid in disaster recovery in Chile, EI Salvador, Mexico and Pakistan. Other notable projects include the ramp at Ground Zero in New York City and nearly a mile of bridging to repair 1-10 in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. In 2003, the Central Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce named Milton Steel “Business of the Year.” Mr. Holcombe graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor of architectural engineering. He is a professional engineer, licensed in Pennsylvania since 1995 and is active in the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). In addition to the School of Medicine board, Mr. Holcombe is also a member of the boards of Geisinger Health Plan, Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Company and Geisinger Quality Options.
