Virginia McGregor

Chair

Virginia McGregor was appointed to the Geisinger Health Board of Directors in February 2012. She is chair of the Geisinger Family Committee and serves on the Patient Experience, Academic Affairs and Quality committee of the board. Ms. McGregor also serves as chair of the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine board and is a member of the Geisinger Affiliate Boards.

In 2021, President Joe Biden appointed Ms. McGregor to serve as Treasurer of the Democratic National Committee, a position she is very proud to currently hold. Within the DNC, she is also a National Co-Chair of the DNC's Women's Leadership Forum and a Deputy National Finance Chair. She was also appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf to the America 250 commission, a bipartisan committee that was formed to help celebrate America’s 250 year anniversary, and currently serves on the board of McGregor Industries, a family-owned business of more than 100 years that is a manufacturer of miscellaneous and structural steel products for the construction industry.

Prior to her appointment at Geisinger, Ms. McGregor served as chair of the CMCHS Board of Directors, the North Penn Bank Board of Directors; St. Joseph’s Center Foundation Board of Directors; and The Boys and Girls Club of Scranton Board of Directors. She graduated from Holy Cross with a BA in history and completed the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Executive Education Program. Ms. McGregor and her husband Bob reside in Scranton and are parents to six children and grandparents to three.
